2012 Quarter 1 Newsletter

That title is a joke. We don’t think in quarters anymore.

If you’re reading this before Saturday, 11th February 2012, it is true to say that we have gigs in Cork, London, Galway and Dublin planned in the short term. With the help of some vagaries, there’ll be more to add to that list.

We’re gonna have some videos for songs off Confidants soon. Soon.

Check this out: evidence that we played a gig with Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks.

Members of the internet continue to sprinkle praise on our efforts:

The Streetlamp Doesn’t Cast Her Shadow Anymore

Listen Before You Buy

Handsome Young Stranger

Big Echo (Russia)

Slanted MixTapes (Indonesia)

The Jangle Box (Spain)

Some of the writers at The Irish Times liked Confidants a lot, and they listed us in their 2011 lists.

As did Nialler9 readers in his songs and albums polls.

At Christmas, we played Mike Stevens’ song Blotto, with him singing. Here’s a video of that very thing.

Cormac did a humorous and interesting interview with The G-Man blog. His star continues to rise in his native Cork.

This post was indicative of the lack of genuine news that any band in their right minds and excellent health will have to impart. Thanks for your time.

Popical Redux

At short notice, we’re putting on a gig to warm the cockles of your heart on a chilly July Sunday night. What else would you be doing? Eating your furniture? Bootcamp? Creating new circles?

UPSTAIRS IN WHELAN’S IS THE VENUE!

To perform, in no particular order:

GINNELS

GRAND POCKET ORCHESTRA

and us:

LAND LOVERS

It’s a fiver in, and 10 euro with a CD copy of Popical Island #2, OR 7 euro with the badge pack copy of Popical Island #2.

Doors at 8!!

Prohibition

Hello everyone. I’d like to notify y’all that we will be playing at the Forbidden Fruit festival at the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham on the Saturday of the June bank holiday.

Here's the poster

I’m led to believe that we’ll be onstage at around 7PM.
